When I first saw the kid sized house bed from Gautier Studio, I fell in love. It got me SUPER excited to redesign Bodhi's room for toddler-dom. A few months ago I installed a mountain landscape decal mural (see full blog post here) and it was time to upsize his furniture and decor to fit his age. Buh bye, baby. Hello, big kid.
I always start with an inspo board. I use Google Docs or Sketch depending on my mood. Copy and paste images until it looks just right. It helps to refine the overall look and feel of the design to make sure it all jives together. Monochrome is my palette, but I like to add interest with art, pattern and texture.

Not gonna lie. The Pom Pom Bed arrived in the mail and I squealed with excitement. I put it together all by myself in about an hour (during nap time, cause nothing gets done with grabby hands in play). Super easy. Fits a twin size mattress (they also sell a smaller play house size). The Youpi Beanbag Chair also by Gautier Studio is another fun addition to the room. The kids both love to sit on it and toss it around.
QUICK TIP: Buy IKEA throw pillow covers and stuff with 2 (not 1) feather inserts for that plush look.
The "Z" Magnificent Wall Letters are one of my favourite features of the room. They're BIG at about a foot high and made of iron. The Land of Nod sells the whole alphabet so you can spell whatever you'd like. Perfect for displaying little toys and it gives the room that industrial edge.

Teepee was on my MUST-have list. They are great for imaginative play. This black striped A Teepee To Call Your Own from The Land of Nod fit perfectly with the my design and adds a ton of impact. Bodhi loves to hide inside and roll around on the pillows. It's an investment piece but I just know it will get lots of use over the years.
Mobile is handmade with some wooden balls and dowels I picked up from the craft supply store. I painted them with matte paint and strung them together using jewelry wire and crazy glue. It hangs from a little eyelet hook in the ceiling.
Print: Honeymoon Hotel Art | Frame, Horse, Dresser: IKEA | Wall Letters: The Land of Nod
Toy Camera: Little Minimalist | Cross Blanket: Pia Wallen
. . .
Art Print "Hold Me Closer Tiny Dancer" is by Honeymoon Hotel Art. It's one of the lullabies we sing to Bodhi before bed so it was the best addition to the room. Frame is by IKEA.
Bedding is my jam. Mixing and matching graphic prints adds a bit of whimsy to kids bedding. I started with a custom toddler duvet and pillow cover by Golden Finch Co (pattern is Painted Black Dots by Wee Gallery). Added some fabulous pieces from The Land of Nod, including the Ahmaze Quilt, With A Chance of Pillow Case and the Wanderer and Split Decision throw pillows.
The cherry on top are three Luxe Knot Cushions from Malia Mu. They come with a custom leather removable strap with your child's name stamped on. How fun is that?
So that's a run down of Bodhi's new room. I'm so stoked on every piece and super happy with how it came together. I tried to link as many items as I could, but if you're looking for a source that I missed just comment below and I'll hit you back!
